The Jefferson Family & Relationship Institute Professional Development Program is committed to providing high-quality, evidence based continuing education opportunities for social workers, counselors, case managers, and other helping professionals. Upcoming Workshops
July 11, 2026 | 9 AM - 12 PM
This workshop will explore the principles of trauma-informed care and their application in domestic violence intervention. Participants will learn strategies to recognize the impact of trauma, avoid re-traumatization, and support healing while working with individuals and families affected by domestic violence.
August 1, 2026 | 9AM - 12 PM
Participants will examine the dynamics of power and control within intimate relationships and gain practical tools for identifying abusive behaviors, assessing relationship patterns, and supporting individuals impacted by abuse. This training will incorporate concepts from the Duluth Model and evidence-based intervention practices.

S. Denise Jefferson, LCSW is the Founder and Clinical Director of Jefferson Family & Relationship Institute. She provides therapy, professional training, and community education with a focus on relationships, trauma, domestic violence prevention, and family wellness.
